In the 1900’s a man by the name of Smith was an all-star baseball player from Cooperstown, New York. He traveled around the state playing for semi-pro teams and was on the first team to play in Doubleday Field. He even was offered a job with the Cincinnati Reds but turned the job down because he had a family, he needed to take care of. He started his own meat market business and perfected recipes to make sausage. As years passed, his son worked in the business and carried on the family tradition, selling sausage wholesale and retail in Central New York. Unfortunately, in the late 70’s, due to pressure put on the business by growing regulations and control, the business closed. The family continued to make the sausage for themselves and shared with those close to them. We are happy to share with you these recipes today! We are part of that family and proud of it! While we can’t make the sausage for you, we are willing to share the seasoning mix so you can make your own!
